Mission Statement
Broad Strokes Gallery, Inc. (BSGI) is organized exclusively for charitable and educational
purposes to serve the residents of
the town of Oriental and Pamlico County, North Carolina.
Working with other 501(c)(3) entities in the county, providing accessible art education,
creative experiences, and community engagement opportunities for people of all ages—from
preschool children, the disadvantaged and to retired seniors.
BSGI is a community art center
s
erving one of North Carolina’s lowest-wage rural communities supporting local artists and
residents by fostering creative expression as a means of connection, communication, and
personal growth. Through classes, exhibitions, art auctions and collaborative art experiences,
the Gallery addresses rural isolation and depression, promotes individual and community
wellness, and strengthens social bonds throughout the county.

At Broad Strokes Gallery, we believe in nurturing creativity at every age.
This exhibit is a beautiful reminder that artistic passion begins early and grows with
encouragement and opportunity.

We proudly showcase the artwork of the talented students from
Arapahoe Charter School. These inspiring young artists from Pamlico County are
sharing heartfelt renditions of their beloved furry family members — a touching tribute to
the pets who bring so much love into our lives.

Come meet the aspiring artists and their dedicated,
gifted teacher, Daryn Martin.
